Nelson-Tasman cycling project is looking for volunteers
Nelson and Tasman Councils are currently working with the Nelson Cycle Trails Trust on a major cycle tourism initiative in the region. The project is part of the New Zealand Cycle Trail Project (John Key's 'National Cycleway') and will potentially bring significant numbers of new tourists to the region - with associated economic benefits. The developments will also provide new or improved facilities for residents who are interested in commuting by bike or in recreational riding.
As the project grows the list of tasks grows with it, so the Trails Trust is looking for people to be involved in a number of different areas. We don't need people to have a particular area of expertiese (but if you have that's great!), just an interest in cycling or in a project that will enrich our community.
If this sounds interesting, please call Chris Allison on 03 548 6636; Stuart Hughes on 03 547 3771 or Steve Waring on 03 539 6303.
